Copacabana Palace — Rio De Janeiro, Brazil

Opened in 1923, this impressive stucco-fashioned edifice is Rio's most traditional and luxurious hotel. This landmark was designed by the French architect Joseph Gire who was inspired by two hotels, the Negresco in Nice and the Carlton in Cannes. Since opening the hotel has had only two owners, the Guinle family of Rio de Janeiro and from 1989, Orient-Express Hotels, Trains & Cruises.
Highly acclaimed Copacabana Palace is renowned as the most luxurious hotel in Rio. With a long established reputation for exceptional service, it is the first choice for celebrities, royalty, politicians and the business traveller.
Five Star Alliance Client Reviews - Copacabana Palace
Lisa B., Buenos Aires, Argentina. January, 2007
"The Copacabana Palace is an elegant hotel on one of the nicest beaches in Rio de Janeiro. Our room was tastefully decorated with windows that opened and the view was of pool and the beach. The pool was a delightful place to spend the day if you didn't want to be on the beach and if you did want the beach there were chairs, umbrellas, towels and smiling attendants waiting for you. We felt that the staff and service personnel were first class. We would definitely go back again."

Jay A.., Washington, DC. January, 2007
"My wife and I were made to feel extremely welcome by the professional and gracious staff. As a first time visitor, we were even given a personal tour of the property. Nestled on its own peninsula, with multiple private beaches and its own marina, this hotel is a perfect spot to relax and enjoy all that Bermuda has to offer. Our room was well decorated and spacious, with modern amenities but still retaining a charming, relaxing and comfortable island feel. The food, at both the main dining room and the outdoor cafe, Breezes, was exceptional. All in all, highly recommended."

"The hotel staff, restaurant and view were great. The rooms depending on which part of the hotel you were in were not Five Star in fact some were very bad. Ask for a renovated room."

"I liked the service and the food."
